Acupuncture treatments are virtually painless. At most you may feel a slight pick when the needle pierces the skin and in most cases you will not feel anything at all. Once the needles are inserted the location may feel sore and achy or have a dull pressure. These are all normal sensations and it is considered a sign that your body is beginning to respond to the treatment.

For your treatment it is best to wear loose fitting clothes. Easy access to arms, shoulders, legs and knees are a must. However in some situations we will require to get to other areas of the body such as upper and lower back, the gluteus and the stomach, in which case we will provide you with a paper gown and towel.

It really depends on the reason for your visit. Something like tennis elbow may respond well to 2 or 3 acupuncture treatments. A more chronic condition will require a longer course of treatment. This will all be discussed with you during your initial visit. However, most pain patients do begin to see a reduction in pain and improved range of motion with in 1 to 3 treatments.

Yes.  This is one modality that sets us apart from other acupuncture offices.  We have our own pharmacy of over 150 different herbal medicinals kept in a climate controlled room.  We prescribe raw Chinese herbs.  Raw herbs have been minimally processed, therefor maintaining more of their original essence. We believe that in this form the medicinal qualities that each herb is known for remains at their peak, thus having a more profound healing effect on the body. We do offer herbal pills and powders for patients on the go and who need something a little more convenient.
